Pascal Rogé played for us in 1992; we welcome Pascal and Ami for the opening concert of our new season.
Pascal is one of the great interpreters of French piano music. For several years, he has enjoyed playing recitals for four-hands/two-pianos with his partner in life and in music, Ami Rogé.
They have travelled the world appearing at prestigious festivals and concert halls. Their recent tour of Japan saw them perform the premiere of Ami suite, a new piece for four hands, written especially for them by the Japanese-American composer Paul Chihara. Additionally they have made a growing number of orchestral appearances together playing Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos and Mendelssohn's Concerto for Two Pianos in E Major.
Later this year they will give a premiere of a newly-commissioned Concerto for Two Pianos by the composer Matthew Hindson with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy.
Their programme includes duets by Fauré and Holst, and Pascal will play solos by Debussy.

Elen Hydref, harp, Maja Wegrzynowska, viola, and Renate Sokolskova, flute, formed La Mer Trio in 2009 when students at the Royal Academy of Music. Their programme will include works by Ravel, Bax and Debussy.

This concert marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer Fredrick Delius, who is buried in Limpsfield.
Thomas Carroll has appeared worldwide as soloist with many orchestras, and also as a chamber musician. Thomas is currently a Professor at the Royal College of Music in London and the Yehudi Menuhin School. He will talk about his family link with Delius, and with Anthony will play Sonata for Cello and Piano by Delius. They will also be playing sonatas by Beethoven and Franck.
Anthony Hewitt is a pianist of formidable ability. He has toured worldwide as an orchestral soloist, given recitals and performed chamber music.

Crispian Steele-Perkins is a trumpet soloist of world renown. Crispian spent his early career playing with the English National Opera and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, then worked in recording, TV and film studios.
He also gives performances on genuine historical instruments. He has played at performances by some of the world's greatest singers, including Kiri Te Kanawa, Bryn Terfel and Lesley Garrett.
Ian Le Grice's career embraces all aspects of organ playing: concerto performances, solo recitals, recitals with singers and instrumentalists, continuo work, orchestral playing and the accompaniment of church services. He is assistant organist of the Temple Church, London, organist of Reigate St. Mary's Choir School, accompanist to the Croydon Philharmonic Choir and the St. Cecilia Chorus.
Their programme will include pieces by Mozart, Stanley and Gershwin.
